NextGen Enterprise Fall 2018 Release and Other New Capabilities Promise Meaningful Improvements in Outpatient Care Delivery

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 12, 2018-- Nashville, known as America’s healthcare hub, is home to some of the largest health systems and health services organizations in the U.S. This week, the city’s healthcare population has swollen by more than 3,000 as NextGen Healthcare, Inc. (NASDAQ:NXGN), the leading provider of ambulatory-focused healthcare technology solutions, hosts its 21st annual User Group Meeting (UGM), November 11-14. This morning, the Company unveiled its Fall 2018 core platform release, designed to help clients optimize outcomes in the evolving healthcare landscape. It also launched its new API Marketplace and Contract Audit and Recovery capability.

“I’ve attended UGM many times and we’ve had other leaders from our office attend as well. The value we get from meeting and talking with other leaders in our industry, learning from subject matter experts how to maximize our current technology’s capabilities and preparing for upcoming changes in healthcare far exceeds the cost of admission,” said Rob Gregory, Vice President of Operations, Karing Hearts Cardiology.

The NextGen Enterprise Fall 2018 Release includes extensive new capabilities. A few of the highlights include:

  • Integrated Virtual Visits through the newly announced partnership with telehealth vendor OTTO Health. The development integrates the OTTO Health telehealth application with the NextGen Enterprise platform, allowing practitioners to meet growing demand, expand patient access and volume, and reduce overhead.
  • Eligibility and Integrated Pre-Service Financial Clearance through Availity. Real-time data, such as insurance eligibility, estimated costs and prior authorizations, increases the likelihood of patient collections prior to the first office visit.
  • Adaptive Content Engine to strategically extend and configure the clinical workflow platform inside NextGen’s EHR. With the most comprehensive clinical content and template customization functionality in the industry, the engine retains template customizations for easier upgrades so less time is needed to preserve or adjust custom workflows.

Among the other developments to be presented at this year’s conference is NextGen Healthcare’s API Marketplace, a new approach to promoting innovation that complements the NextGen Enterprise platform. At its core, the marketplace is a centralized portal for value-added applications created by NextGen Healthcare clients, partners and third parties.

In addition, participants will learn about NextGen Healthcare’s Contract Audit and Recovery (CAR), provided by Managed Care Advisory Group, which extends contract management and reimbursement support to providers to ensure they collect on the reimbursements to which they are entitled. CAR also provides analysis on how to decrease future inefficiencies, as approximately 4-10% of total provider revenue is mismanaged.1

“At NextGen Healthcare, we are never satisfied. We continuously innovate our integrated platform of technology and services enabling ambulatory practices to thrive in a quickly evolving industry,” said Rusty Frantz, CEO and President of NextGen Healthcare. “UGM 2018 facilitates thousands of quality discussions between our subject matter experts and clients, both educating our clients and giving us the insights needed to continuously fuel the industry’s transformation.”

The NextGen Healthcare UGM 2018 conference theme, “Better Never Stops,” is focused on technology solutions and services that enable ambulatory practices to evolve into high-performing value-based care organizations. The breakout session tracks center around: clinical care, connected health, financial management, population health analytics and organizational development.
