How NextGen Digital Documentation works

If you’re outside the clinic and connectivity is a problem—open the NextGen Digital Documentation application on your laptop computer (a Windows environment is required).

Select the forms you want. Complete these forms by filling in discrete, reportable data elements.

Information you’ve entered is encrypted and saved using Mirth Connect by NextGen Healthcare, a data exchange engine. The information is stored in the cloud.

When you return to the clinic, you’ll open a desktop application which connects to the cloud and shows which completed forms are ready for uploading.

View all completed forms. Next select the forms that you want uploaded to the EHR and practice management system.

The application reads the forms, captures data, and sends it to the EHR or PM system—where data elements are uploaded to the appropriate templates.
