Barely one month into 2018 and healthcare has hit the ground running.
We’re not even through the first month of the year and we see the multibillion dollar electronic health records (EHR) market continuing to make headlines. I recently had the privilege of presenting at the 36th Annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference, one of healthcare’s largest gatherings of industry leaders. Throughout the conference, many in the industry buzzed about how the various aspects of care delivery and practice management are being shaped by factors, including:
- increasing government initiatives for the adoption of EHR systems,
- adoption of healthcare IT,
- increasing use of EHR solutions, and
- an ongoing need to reduce costs.
At the same time, we’re all grappling with the evolution to value-based as the fee-for-service world is giving way to new economic mandates, and ambulatory physicians are on the front lines of this effort. Therefore, wherever our clients are facing this shift to value-based care models, we align their organizational capabilities, technology, services, people and processes to master these changes.
NextGen Healthcare is squarely positioned in the EHR market to help our ambulatory clients make the transition to value-based care through a broad-base portfolio of solutions. We continue to invest in our business and expand our healthcare ecosystem. In the last year, we acquired technology that expands our cloud-based solutions into mobile health, and added to our analytics capabilities across clinical, financial and administrative data to optimize practice performance. We are committed to helping solve our customers’ interoperability challenges, and today we facilitate data exchange for more than 150 million patients on our interoperability platform to improve care coordination.
Looking inward at NextGen Healthcare’s culture, I see our team members around the globe living our brand promise every day in our “relentless quest for better.” As an organization, we continuously look at ways to ensure our visual identity in the market reflects this promise. Our identity, combined with our collective action, reflect our united desire to improve healthcare delivery and patient/provider satisfaction.
Together with our clients, we are on a journey guided by our brand promise. We are fueled by our pledge to provide solutions and services that enable physicians to do what they do best – focus on the practice of medicine and the overall health of the patients they serve. Beyond the business of NextGen Healthcare, we remember, at some point in our own journey, we or someone we love, will become a patient. We want the best for those we care about… and will contribute to the cause through our work.
I wish you all continued success in 2018!
