Healthcare Joins with the American Academy
of Family Physicians to Promote the Use
of Electronic Health Records
HORSHAM, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov.
12, 2003--NextGen Healthcare
Information Systems, Inc., a subsidiary
of Quality Systems, Inc. (QSII:NASDAQ),
announced today that it has executed an
agreement with the American Academy of
Family Physicians (AAFP).
Under the non-exclusive agreement, the
AAFP will work cooperatively with NextGen
Healthcare to help publicize the availability
of NextGen products to AAFP members, and
will facilitate NextGen's access to the
AAFP's 95,000 members.
With the goal of improving both the quality
of medical care and the efficiency of
medical practice, the AAFP has taken an
active leadership role in encouraging
health technology companies to promote
open standards and make electronic health
record systems the preferred method for
managing health care information.
The AAFP will present the details of its
relationship with NextGen and select other
companies at the AAFP and PGPA Press Event
entitled "Partners for Patients:
Family Physicians + Industry = Electronic
Health Records" on Nov. 12, 2003
at 9:30 a.m. at the National Press Club
in Washington, DC.
