NextGen Healthcare Information Systems Receives Top Honors at TEPR Conference

HORSHAM, PA. — May 16, 2002 — NextGen Healthcare Information Systems Inc., a subsidiary of Quality Systems, Inc. (QSII:NASDAQ), announced today that its NextGen EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and Nextgen EPM (Enterprise Practice Management) applications have been recognized by a panel of independent judges as among the "Best of Breed" solutions in multiple categories.

For the second consecutive year, the NextGen EMR application was entered in two categories and earned first place in both, including "EMR for Specialty or Department" and "Comprehensive EMR for Ambulatory Care." The NextGen EPM application was awarded second place in the "Practice Management Comprehensive Systems" category. All finalists were evaluated by a non-biased panel of independent judges and analysts, based on a point system measuring technological excellence and the ability to provide products and services for today's market. Reports of customer satisfaction were also reviewed.

The TEPR ("Toward an Electronic Patient Record") 2002 conference and exhibition was sponsored by the Medical Records Institute, which is celebrating its 18th anniversary. The TEPR conference is one of the largest healthcare information technology conferences in the world and connects industry experts, conference attendees and exhibitors in addressing current industry trends and regulatory, practical and implementation issues in electronic healthcare.
