TUSTIN, Calif., -- May

announced today that products developed
and marketed by its NextGen Healthcare
Information Systems subsidiary have received
recent recognition from healthcare information
technology experts.
NextGen software products have been named
as one of three finalists in each of three
award categories by the Medical Records
Institute in anticipation of its upcoming
TEPR (Toward the Electronic Patient Record)
conference to be held May 11-15 in Seattle,
WA. During the conference, the Company
will be competing in the Practice Management
Comprehensive Systems, Specialty/Departmental
EMR, and Ambulatory Care Comprehensive
EMR categories. This is the second consecutive
year that the Company has been named a
TEPR finalist. In 2001, the Company was
named as a finalist in two categories
and earned first-place honors in both
categories.
Further, the American Academy of Family
Physicians (AAFP) announced at its Annual
Leadership Forum the release of the joint
"AAFP/Microsoft Technology Guide:
Practice Management Software"(1).
NextGen's EPM software suite received
the highest score in the financial/corporate
evaluation arena, which includes financial
statements, client base, growth, operating
practices, management structure, and business
processes. Further, the Company earned
the highest score and tied with another
vendor in the functional criteria area,
which covered 57 distinct data elements(2).
The Company also received favorable coverage
in the May issue of Technology in Practice,
a healthcare industry trade publication.
