Pay-for-Performance
Providers have the tools built right into NextGen EMR and NextGen EPM to capture
healthcare outcome data required for all P4P programs. Because data is collected
during the normal course of documenting an encounter, workflow is uninterrupted
while accurate, comprehensive PQRI data is being gathered.
Here are just a few examples of how NextGen Healthcare is leading industry efforts
to test and pilot new P4P programs:
PQRI (Physicians Quality Reporting Initiative)
- We're the only healthcare IT vendor that provides a built-in, automated process
for collecting PQRI data submissions through our clinical system.
- NextGen EMR and NextGen EPM operate as one system, storing both clinical and financial
data on one database for easy PQRI data capture. This also allows providers to create
their own summary reports for validation of their PQRI submissions.
- NextGen EMR's clinical templates are mapped to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid
Services DOQ-IT quality indicators (see DOQ-IT below). This foundation gives us
the flexibility to change indicators on our templates as the government makes changes
to the clinical reporting criteria.
Commercial Initiatives
- NextGen clients are participating in projects with Blue Cross organizations across
the country on the design and implementation of commercial insurance P4P programs.
- New York City has invited NextGen to participate in Take Care New York, their population
health initiative.
- The Taconic Health Information Network Community (THINC) has asked NextGen to provide
an IT tool for physician reporting as part of a pilot project, sponsored by six
insurance carriers.
MCMP (Medicare Care Management Performance)
- 40 NextGen clients are currently participating in MCMP programs.
- These clients will receive additional rewards for reporting quality measures electronically
from the CCHIT Certified NextGen EMR.
DOQ-IT (Doctor’s Office Quality – Information Technology)
- In 2006, NextGen EMR completed DOQ-IT testing by showing its ability to transmit
data on 33 clinical indicators to a Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) using
mandated data transmission standards.
- We are the only vendor that is actively working with QIOs across all 50 states.
- NextGen is one of only six vendors whose product can transmit data to CMS via the
DOQ-IT warehouse.
